Jean-Luc Le Mounier is a French cabinetmaker born in 1976.

For the last 15 years, he has been creating interior design in his workshop near Dinard, in the heart of his native Brittany.

His passion for woodworking was confirmed throughout his 8 year apprenticeship at the best French workshops "Compagnons du Devoir du Tour de France". From this extraordinary experience, Jean-luc retained a demanding know-how, humanistic values and patience for knowledge transmission.

"The DNA of my creative pieces is deeply linked to the materials I explore and shape."

He is, first and foremost, influenced by his roots of traditional woodworking, but it wasn't until his visit to a Breton Foundry, where he was introduced to bronze, that he was inspired to move away from the classic lines of cabinetry, for a figurative universe inspired by the world and landscape that surround him.

"I reinterpret natural decorative elements often related to architecture: the breakwaters of Saint-Malo, the mussel piles of Cancale, or windbreaks dunes of Sables d’Or les Pins. This exhibition, 'Vers le Large', is an opportunity for me to share fully creations that reflect my identity, my sensitivity and the dreams that drive me."
